Electricity products

The Brookline Green Electricity program offers four different electricity products, all with varying levels of renewable electricity.

“Brookline Green Electricity was designed to be inclusive and ensure that all residents, including low-income households,  and businesses would have the opportunity for monthly savings and protection from market volatility while reducing our carbon emissions by using renewable energy. The program offers four products to provide maximum flexibility. And, participants may opt-out at any time without paying a fee.”

–Selectwoman Nancy Heller, Co-Chair, Select Board’s Climate Action Committee

Future savings cannot be guaranteed because future Basic Service rates are unknown. BGE rates can be above or below Basic Service at any time.

Please note: Prices for all options in the Brookline CEA program include a $0.001 /kWh administration fee. Program prices could increase as a result of a change in law that results in a direct, material increase in costs during the term of the electricity supply agreement. Program prices apply only to the electricity supply portion of your Eversource electric bill. Delivery charges on your Eversource electric bill are not affected by the BGE program.

Products described as Green contain renewable electricity above that required by state law. The additional renewable electricity qualifies for MA Class I designation and comes only from solar, wind, anaerobic digestion and low-impact hydro located within New England. Local refers to New England.
