Product information below represents electricity product details for Brookline Green Electricity Program’s current contract from December 2022 though December 2024.
The Program has different products to let you find the right balance of cost and renewable electricity. Renewable electricity will be certified by purchasing and retiring Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), the accepted legal instrument used to track renewable energy generation and to substantiate claims of renewable energy use. Brookline Green
Price: 16.361 ¢/kWh for residential, commercial and industrial customers
Term: December 2022 – December 2024
Renewable Energy: Adds voluntary renewable energy (MA Class l RECs) to total: 90% renewable in 2022 & 2023 and 100% in 2024.

Renewable Energy: Adds 100% voluntary renewable energy (MA Class I RECs).

Please note that prices for all products in the Brookline Green Electricity Program include a $0.001/kWh administration fee.
Products described as Green contain renewable electricity above that required by the Commonwealth. The additional renewable electricity qualifies for MA Class I designation and comes only from solar, wind, anaerobic digestion and low-impact hydro located within New England.
Tax Deductions: The cost of the additional renewable energy provided through Brookline Green Electricity is eligible for a federal tax deduction. To receive a receipt to file with your 2022 taxes, you must fill out the form here. Hard copy letters are not being mailed.
Eversource Basic Service Rates
Residential: 17.216 ¢/kWh, January 2024 through July 2024
Commercial: 17.552 ¢/kWh, January 2024 through July 2024
Industrial: 11.668 ¢/kWh (NEMA), May through July 2024
Renewable Energy: Meets minimum renewable energy standards
Future savings compared to Eversource Basic Service cannot be guaranteed because future Basic Service prices change every six months for residential and commercial customers and every three months for industrial customers.
